With the publication of this issue, our staff begins an annual winter break. Your next issue of the Spectator will be dated February 1 and will reflect several exciting new features.

In our continuing effort to provide in-depth, independent journalism, and stories and a perspective we believe you will find nowhere else, we are expanding to an eight-page issue that we will publish monthly. Our new format will enable us to provide readers a better mix of feature articles, informed commentary on the issues ahead, and more investigative reporting than the current format and schedule allow.
